Phoenix Wedding Menu Trends For 2015
Wedding menus have come a long way. Remember the days of being served chicken, vegetables and rice for the meal and white cake for dessert? Those days are long gone! Guests are now treated to so many amazing dishes, themes and of course flavors that it’s hard to say that wedding menus are boring these days.
Wedding Menu Trends For 2015
Couples are really taking to heart that the wedding and celebration after are really marking a starting point for them together as a couple. They are making their big day more personal. Here are three big trends for this fall.
Brunch
Imagine a ceremony in the crisp morning air and then you are treated to an array of artisan coffees, fluffy pancakes, fresh fruit, amazing baked goods and fresh juices. Brunch is hot right now. You can choose to go as heavy on the menu items (think flavored sausages and glazed ham) or as light as you want (finger sandwiches and fruit) when it comes to a Brunch menu.
One of the reasons this is so popular right now is you can combine not only the bride and groom’s tastes but also make it very fun for guests. Think about adding in flavored syrups at a pancake bar or have trays of fresh baked doughnuts for guests to enjoy. Some couples even bring their own barista teams in to make handmade beverages for their guests!
Fresh Foods
Brides and grooms might have varying tastes but that does not mean they both can’t meet in the middle. The fresh food or farm to table trend is really huge right now. So are organic offerings. If you have a veggie loving bride and a steak loving groom think about a menu rich in fresh, locally grown veggies served with organic grass-fed beef.
Many couples are also wowing guests with vegetarian menus like Portabello mushroom quesadillas with dairy free cheeses. Couples no longer have to fear not pleasing guests with all the options for fresh menus today.
Themed Meals
More and more couples are choosing flavor when it comes to themed catered event and the menus. Some popular themes are bacon or truffles. For bacon themed menus couples are choosing bacon wrapped shrimp, bacon wrapped veggies and even bacon topped doughnuts. When it comes to truffles trends include truffle fries and truffle mac and cheese. All these choices truly show a passion for flavor!
Other trends include building your own meal. Couples offer plain fries and burgers and encourage guests to choose unique sauces like Curried Mustard or Truffled Aioli. They can put the sauces on fries, deck out their own burger (or mini burgers) and come up with a meal that fits the guest’s tastes letting everyone to choose their own adventure!
The New Cocktail Party
This “casual cocktail hour” is a huge trend. You can be so creative! Plus couples that are not into all of the tradition of a regular reception can create some amazing “small bites” for guests to enjoy!
For those couples that love the Super Bowl cocktail party there are so many exciting trends. One that is getting a lot of attention is french fries served in monogrammed envelopes with a mini burger on the side. It makes a great presentation and conversation starter plus it’s just a little something to help tide guests over until dinner or until more heavy appetizers arrive.
